Step 1: Check the following factors to see if you will be eligible for the Visa Subclass :

• be outside of Australia at the time of application;

• have a sponsor;

• not have had a visa revoked or an application denied.

• be the appropriate age;

• fulfil the standards for relationships;

• meet the health and character requirements;

• have no outstanding debts to the Australian government;

• sign the Australian values statement; and

• behave in the child’s best interests.

Step 2: Gather the required documents

1. Birth Certificate

3. Marriage or Divorce Certificate

4. Health Examination Report

5. Character Documents like Police Clearance Certificate

How to apply

1. Go to ImmiAccount and log in. You will be prompted to register a new account if you do not already have an ImmiAccount login.

2. Choose “New application.”

3. Choose “Family.”

4. Choose “Partner or Prospective Marriage Visa, Stage 1.”

5. Finish the application.

6. Pay the application fee for a visa.

7. Send in your application and provide your sponsor with your transaction reference number (TRN). The TRN is required for your sponsor to apply for sponsorship.

8. Include supporting documentation with your filled-out application.

If you do not pay the appropriate visa application fee, we are unable to process your application.

How Long can You stay on this Visa?

An applicant can stay temporarily until the applicant’s permanent Partner Visa (subclass 100) application is finalised.

The cost of Australia Partner Provisional Visa Subclass 100 is AUD 8,850.00.

What is the processing time for this Visa?

50 per cent of the application will take 13 months to be processed, while 90 per cent will take up to 32 months.

What are the things required for an applicant to do while on Visa Subclass 190?

You need to:

  • Have your spouse or de facto partner sponsor you;
  • Be in a sincere relationship with your spouse or de facto partner, who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
  • Do not be in Australia at the time of your visa application. Family members applying with you must be foreign nationals as well.
  • Be in Australia or abroad at the time your application for a temporary visa is evaluated.
