The ambitious aspirants desiring to make Canada their permanent residence may face difficulties in getting their PR due to the sudden rise in the permanent residence fees. Now, they have to do all the planning concerning their PR approval, keeping in mind the hike in the fee structure.

According to the latest proclaimed decision, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. (IRCC) has made a major declaration regarding the hike in the permanent residence fees. As of 9:00 a.m. Eastern time on April 30, 2024, the department will see a significant boost in certain permanent residence (PR) fees.

For candidates hoping to acquire permanent residency in Canada, the fees will rise from the current CAD 515 to CAD 575, emphasizing a considerable surge of around 12 per cent.

From the IRCC's notice, the new reads: "In compliance with Canada’s immigrant and refugee protection regulation (IRPR), permanent residency (PR) fees will increase at 9:00 a.m. Eastern daylight time on April 30, 2024, by the cumulative percentage increase to the Consumer Price Index for Canada, published by Statistics Canada, for the two previous years, rounded to the nearest five dollars."

Obtaining permanent residency in Canada opens the doors to eminent favours for aspirants, as Canada is constantly emerging as one of the most highly considered places to study and do work. As this notable raise in the fee structure is going to take place soon, the aspirants would have accumulated a lot of concern regarding the PR fees chargeable for the

acceptance of their permanent residency in Canada. It is necessary for the candidates to be aware of all aspects of the increase in PR fees and get the requisite information about the newly structured permanent residence fees in Canada.

However, the increase in the fee structure just goes beyond the permanent residency application; Canada is increasing the cost for Federal Skilled Workers, Quebec Skilled Workers, the Provincial Nominee Program, the Atlantic Immigration Class, and most economic pilots (Rural, Agri-Food), and their spouses will also face a hike from CAD 850 to CAD 950. The fee for accompanying a dependent child has also been increased from CAD 230 to CAD 260, as per the report.
