Eligibility for Canada PR from India
One
simple and lawful option to remain in Canada is to apply for permanent
residency (PR). To be eligible to enter the country as a Canada permanent
resident, candidates must meet the requirements outlined below.
The following criteria must be taken into account in order to be eligible for
Canada PR:
Age
of Eligibility
A
candidate for permanent residency in Canada needs to be at least eighteen years
old. Up until the age of 46, a candidate may claim points based on their age;
beyond that, no more points are given based on age. The immigrants who are
younger than 18 to 35 years old receive the most points.
Test
of Language Proficiency in English and French
The
official languages of Canada are French and English, hence a prospective
immigrant must prove they are proficient in any or both of them. Therefore, in
order to demonstrate their English competence, candidates must submit the
results of their language competency exam through an accredited institution
like IELTS.
To be eligible for Canada PR from India an applicant needs to have a minimum of
6 bands in each module and if you apply for Canada PNP you can even score as
low as 4.5 bands in each module in certain provinces.
Assessment
of Educational Credentials
For
foreign students or skilled workers who want to immigrate to Canada, an ECA is
necessary. It will make it easier for Citizenship, Immigration, and Refugees
Canada to verify their educational qualifications.
Work
Experience for Skilled Workers
One
of the most important eligibility for Canada PR is one year or more of
competent job experience, either inside or outside of Canada. However, a
candidate needs to have worked in the primary NOC that they gave and their
occupation needs to be in demand according to labor market conditions in order
to get an invitation from the IRCC to submit an application for Canadian
permanent residence.
In
a skilled occupation (National Occupational Classification - NOC), you must
have completed at least one year (1,560 hours) of continuous full-time or
comparable part-time paid work experience during the previous ten years. Please
make sure that one of these NOC TEER Categories includes your work experience:
The Zero, One, Two, and Three TEERS.
Settlement
Funds
To
satisfy the minimal requirements of the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the
Federal Skilled Trades Program, you must provide proof of finances.
